Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 11, 2026
Vaults Below respects the boundary between your private account information and the identity you use while playing. This policy explains what information the service collects, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
Information you provide
When you create or manage an account, you may provide a username, display name, email address, password, account preferences, and support communications. Passwords are stored only as secure password hashes. Vaults Below does not display your email address to other players.
Campaign and gameplay data
The service stores information needed to preserve your campaigns, including campaign membership, characters, inventory, room locations, combat state, story progress, choices, chat messages, friend connections, invitations, notifications, and command history used to prevent duplicate actions.
Automatically collected information
The service may process technical information needed to operate and protect the website, such as session identifiers, connection times, browser or device information, IP address, security events, and application logs. This information is used for authentication, fraud prevention, troubleshooting, and service reliability.
How information is used
Information is used to create and secure accounts, maintain sessions, save campaign progress, connect party members, deliver account emails, prevent duplicate commands, respond to support requests, detect abuse, and improve the stability of Vaults Below.
Public and private identity
Other players may see your display name, username, avatar, presence status, campaign role, character information shared by the game, and messages you send. They do not receive your email address, password information, session tokens, private account settings, or hidden server data.
Emails Are Private
Email addresses are private account settings and are not shown publicly.
Account email
Vaults Below may send verification, password-reset, email-change, campaign-invitation, security, and important service messages. Password-reset and verification responses are designed not to reveal whether a particular email address has an account.
Service providers
Vaults Below may use hosting, database, security, and transactional-email providers to operate the service. These providers process information only as needed to perform their services for Vaults Below.
Data retention
Account and campaign information is retained while your account or shared campaign history remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward for security, recovery, dispute resolution, and legal obligations. Some shared campaign records may remain after one member leaves so the remaining party's history is not broken.
Your choices
You may update your display name, email, password, preferences, friendships, and invitations through the account interface. You may request account deactivation or ask questions about your information by contacting support.
Security
Vaults Below uses technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect account and campaign information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so use a unique password and keep your login details private.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as Vaults Below changes. The updated date will appear at the top of this page. Material changes may also be announced through the website or account email.
